Learning to use a new oscilloscope can be daunting!

In this video, I show five measurements you can make using just an Arduino as your DUT. Learn how to offset voltage, set up measurements, enable infinite persistence, save reference waveforms, AND trigger (and decode) serial signals.

The primary tool I use to create AddOhms animations is Adobe After Effects. In this live stream, I take you through the process I use.

For an upcoming video, I needed an animation showing how the Arduino Uno’s auto-reset circuit works.

As you can see, what is on screen for a few minutes (at most) can take several hours of effort!

This video is part of a 3 part series, with the other two parts coming in the future. When it’s time to design a custom PCB for your project, you might be wondering how to design in an Arduino. This video shows the pieces that go into the schematic. The next video will show how to layout the PCB. And after the boards come back, I will show how to turn it on.

And the Bald Engineer gives you a challenge, can you find the unconnected nets before he does? Check out Part 1 - the Schematic and subscribe to see when Part 3 - Turn On is posted.

Pull-Up Resistors and Pushbuttons | #15

There is nothing more frustrating than a push button that seems to work at random. The good news is the fix is pretty simple: a resistor.

It may not seem obvious when you first start working with electronics but a “floating pin” doesn’t have a defined “high” or “low” level. Remember from the Analog and Digital video, that Digital Electronics has defined voltage levels. Well, when you don’t connect anything to the I/O pin of your microcontroller, the voltage level is undefined!

When asking questions in a forum, like the Arduino forum, it is important to Post Your Code! It is so difficult to help without seeing what you intended.

This was a team effort from the members of the Arduino forum.

First, all of the people who help answer questions, of which, there are too many to list.

The real credit goes to wildbill and Grumpy_Mike. wildbill wrote the original lyrics and Grumpy_Mike put them to music, lending his voice. I (JamesC4S) just did the video animation.

We live in a world of analog. Clocks are a great example of how time is continuously changing with nearly infinite precision. However, when you look at a digital clock, there are very specific “digits”. (Get it? Digital… Digits…) Using the analogy of clocks, this TutorialCast explains the basic difference between Analog and Digital Electronics. It ends with a slight twist.
